mpg is a video file. like avi, and mp4, vob, and such. rar is a compression "container" for lack of better term, as is .zip, .7z and others. im probably not explaining this "by the book" but thats kind of it in a nutshell. it can hold mpg avi, mp4, mp3 wmv, any file extension really. i hope u understand my explaination, and if i got something wrong, someone here knows it.
